My name is Evan Anderman, and I am the newly-elected Chair of CPAC’s Board of Directors. I have been part of the Denver non-profit arts scene since the mid-1980’s, most relevantly perhaps, given our merger last year, as a former member of the Working With Artists board. I am also a landscape and nature photographer based here in Denver, with a background in the earth sciences.
This is an exciting time for CPAC as we strive to grow our programs and reach an ever-wider audience, although it is also a challenging time for all arts organizations.
Many of you know that we offer a range of traditional and non-traditional classes and workshops, but did you know that we have a darkroom for rent in downtown Denver, a studio in Belmar that is perfect for small commercial shoots, and a large collection of books and photographs now being integrated into our exhibition and education programs?
CPAC is about opportunities. Some of our region’s most insightful young curators get their first chance to curate a show in a professional environment here. Juried shows also give many photographers the opportunity to exhibit, often for the first time. Right now, we are preparing to open our 2012 Members’ Show – an annual event that showcases the talents of CPAC’s membership. A public reception for this year’s show takes place on June 15, 6-9 pm., in partnership with Lakewood’s “Inspire” arts week. I look forward to joining you then as we celebrate our talented community of artist-members.
I am also looking forward to working with Rupert Jenkins, our Executive Director, and the board to ensure that we are doing all that we can to serve you. In turn, I ask that you do your part by signing up for classes and workshops, attending openings and special events, and supporting us through donations and memberships.
Thank you for your interest, and for your support. I hope to meet you soon, and please feel free to shoot me an email anytime at evan@EvanAnderman.com.
