Internship
Internship positions are available to students with initiative specializing in photography and related media, business/museum studies, library science, marketing and promotion/social networking.
All college-level students will be considered if a faculty recommendation is included with the application materials. Candidates who are accepted into the internship program will work under the supervision of CPAC’s director and associated personnel. Interns may earn credits toward classes offered by Working with Artists at CPAC. Upon satisfactory completion of the internship, participants will receive letters of recommendation on request.
Internships are part-time positions with no compensation paid by CPAC. They require a minimum 6 hours per week commitment. CPAC’s posted hours are Tue – Sat, 12 – 5.30 pm but interns are encouraged to work outside of those hours when needed.

We are especially seeking interns studying:
Graphic Design Internship:
CPAC is looking for two (2) interns to assist in designing promotional materials for our school and gallery. Knowledge of Adobe Creative program is required as well as a sample of work to date. Schedule is flexible and can be arranged with supervisor, however we need a minimum of a 5 hour commitment per week. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in graphic design while working at a nonprofit art organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Create new templates & new designs for email marketing
- Communication with print company to keep track of print jobs
- Update/maintain website design as needed
Gallery Assistant Internship:
CPAC is in need of three to five (3-5) gallery interns. Candidates need not have prior gallery experience but must have attention to detail and excellent people skills. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a professional and friendly gallery in a nonprofit setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Aid with installation of new exhibits
- Promotion for upcoming gallery shows
- Inventory, packing art and tracking shipping of artwork
- Greeting people and providing information
- Doing research on artists, other galleries/exhibits, etc.
Grant Writing:
CPAC is looking for grant writing interns. Funding from grants help CPAC to better serve our ever-growing community in ways our day-to-day finances cannot. Schedule is flexible and can be arranged with supervisor, however we need a minimum of a 5 hour commitment, per week. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in Grant Writing while seeing how your efforts make a direct impact on nonprofit art organization. Possibility of attending grant writing classes on behalf of CPAC.
Responsibilities include:
- Locating new grants
- Working with the other CPAC grant writers to complete grants
- Help maintain a database of grants sorted by deadlines
- Must work well under deadline
Non-profit Management:
CPAC is looking for an intern interested in Non-profit management to help us enhance the results of our ever-growing community. We want to continue our growth while maintaining high quality classes and events. Interns will work closely with our Executive Directors, and volunteers. Schedule is flexible and can be arranged with supervisor, however we need a minimum of a 5 hour commitment, per week. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in Non-profit Manangement.
Responsibilities include:
- An overall organization assessment
- Strategic planning
- Training our volunteers to implement the approved plans
