Prelude is the inaugural show for the Rocky Mtn. Monochrome Salon. Now almost exclusively the realm of fine art photography, monochrome photography is making a resurgence amongst a diverse group of artists who seek to understand the power behind the medium.
Contemporary approaches take many forms: traditional film-based black-and-white photography, digital black-and-white photography, hybrid photography which combines aspects of both traditional and digital processes, and historic photographic processes that date back to the earliest days of photography. The mission of the Rocky Mtn. Monochrome Salon is to support interested fine art photographers across the Rocky Mountain Region, while educating the public and art community about the history, processes, and value of monochrome photography today.
Prelude is sponsored by CPAC. Visit CPAC for exhibitions, workshops and events including monthly B&W Socials hosted by the Rocky Mountain Monochrome Salon.
