The CPAC DARKROOM is located inside Denver’s historic Zang Mansion at 7th and Clarkson on Capitol Hill. It is professionally maintained and designed for the intermediate to professional user. There are 6 enlarger stations, 35mm to 4×5 capabilities, with two sinks, film processing space, Zone VI archival 16×20 washer, and individual storage cubbies.
**Darkroom rental prices increased February 1, 2015**
Rates are as follows:
$20 members / $35 non-members per day + $5 chemicals fee*;
$120/200 month – chemicals fee negotiable*
*Chemical fees are based on 11×14 trays and “normal” usage. Processing large batches of negatives or printing over 11 x 14 requires a higher fee to offset chemicals costs. Fees will be waived for renters using their own chemicals.
With CPAC tutor (by appointment): $60 hr members /80 hr non-members.
Rental hours are 9 am – 5 pm M-Sat, unless by agreement with darkroom manager. **Payment must be made in advance to CPAC, and an orientation session must be completed by first-time users to secure a reservation. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
Free orientations are offered the first Saturday and third Tuesday of the month (check the calendar link below for specific dates). Users must be intermediate level or above unless accompanied by CPAC tutor (need to verify). Basic chemicals provided (subject to fee). Renters responsible for paper and supplemental supplies. Renters must be over the age of 18 (unless registered for a CPAC Teen Darkroom Workshop).
