080719_00003Introduction to Digital Photography with James Dewhirst  July 23rd-July 26th
This youth workshop teach kids to operate a camera, compose photographs, use light and shadow, look at shots from different angles, and consider color in their shots, to name just a few of the elements that make photography intriguing and fun.
Session 1: ages 6-9: 10 am-12 pm
Each day we will cover different aspects of photography geared toward advancing their creative thinking and technical photography skills. No need for a camera as we have cameras for the students to borrow. It is encouraged that you send them to the class everyday with a camera and a fully charges battery. Our goal is to take their photography to the next level. This class will give the student the knowledge to think about photography and concentrate on getting the correct shot.
Session 2: ages 10-15: 1 pm-3 pm
In this great workshop they will learn how f/stops, shutter speeds, depth of field, ISO standards, control of motion and lighting principles affect their photography. We will be photographing on and around the new Colorado Photographic Arts Center located in the Highlands. Our goal is to take their photography to the next level. This class will give the student the skills to take pictures more comfortably.
Introduction to Mobile Imaging with Rachel Hawthorn IMG_7813-450x450July 16th-July 19th, 10 am-12 pm
This workshop will focus on capturing compelling images and telling your best stories using only a mobile device. In this workshops you will learn the mechanics of how to tell a great visual story with a single photograph or a series of photos. You will explore fun and easy ways to capture and process images with your mobile phone, ways to turn your photos into unique and artistic images and how to save the images in your camera/phone in high resolution for high quality printing outside the class.
