Light surrounds us and makes things visible, but what happens after dark? In this lecture-field workshop, topics and techniques are designed to inspire students in the power and capability of photography to use light and time as a painter might use a canvas and brush. Learn the technical know-how for the urban landscape and how to shoot incredible night photography. This workshop is appropriate for both film and/or digital photographers, so come learn the tricks of the trade in dealing with the wonders of natural and artificial light after dark.
Instructor — Christopher James
Photographer Christopher James has been documenting and revealing the changing architecture and landscape of his native Denver and Colorado for over 20 years. His photographs incorporate a refined technical expertise and a practiced vision that have resulted in an exceptional body of work and a fascination perception of the nighttime world. Daylight work reveals Christopher’s vision of form, shadow, and reflection for strong compositions that define the shape and scope of structure and location. An uncompromising awareness of individual mastery of his experience, draw viewers into the images to explore and discover the detailed treasures in his work.
